Offer a gift of comfort and beauty to a family suffering from loss.
A gift to your family, sparing them hard decisions at an emotional time.
It is not always possible to pay respects in person, so we hope that this small token will help.
Our Story
The Heinz Funeral Home was founded by Peter Heinz in 1854. He emigrated from Kleintettau, Germany as a furniture maker and because of his woodworking and upholstery skills he was asked to make caskets. Thus the Heinz Funeral Home began and continues today, offering honest and trustworthy funeral care for over five generations.

Built in 1850….the St. Francis Hotel…..it is said that the architect of the courthouse stayed here while the courthouse was being built. In the 1930s, August & Clara (Loges) Heinz purchased the building and converted it into the Heinz Funeral Home as it is still known today.
Architecture – Greek Revival (1825-1860)
Features include….low pitched, hipped roof with balustrade…square cupola…wide band of trim at the frieze…elaborate door surrounds, narrow sidelights and transom.
